Hi everyone, I just repaired an iPhone 6S. The front camera is not working, simply a black screen, but the ear piece, proximity sensor do work. I tried the same screen with camera and the rest on another iPhone 6S and everything works perfectly. Considering this, where would the problem be in your opinion ?
The rear camera has to work in order for the front camera to be enabled. You should start by checking the rear camera to insure it works. If the rear camera works and you know the front camera works because you tested it on another device, then you need to inspect the camera connector on the logic board to see if there is a debris or damage. Also, did you disconnect the battery before removing and installing the screen? If you didn’t, then you may have accidentally caused some logic board damage.
I just had this problem on my iPhone 6, it might be a weak sensor cable that is connected to the proximity sensor and ear piece. Also unplugging the screen connectors and and plugging them back in might work. A lot of cases that could be the problem. Sometimes it just needs that small reset.
