I replaced my iPhone 6s battery today using the ifixit battery replacement kit and followed all of the steps meticulously. However when I went to use my front camera, it showed completely black. Then I went to snapchat and it wouldn’t allow me to even switch to use the front camera. What could be the issue? I checked the ribbon and it wasn’t torn.
Do you mean the “selfie” camera? For that one to work, the rear camera, or iSight camera has to be functioning properly. If the rear camera works fine but not the selfie, then the issue is usually related to a torn flex, damaged connector or debris or something impeding a good electrical connection. Take a close look again.
