I was replacing my screen in my base iPhone 8, and during reassembly, when i transferred the old camera to the new screen, I must’ve ripped the cable. I put an old camera i had on there from my last iphone 8, which was the same model. That one didn’t work either. I got a new screen in the mail, and ordered a new camera. After reassembly with the factory new parts, the front camera still does not work. Any suggestions? What could be wrong?

I gather the rear camera works? You will need reset or update the phone to rule out software. I doubt three cameras could be faulty and if it is still not working after the software update it would point to a board problem. Check the connector under some magnification and see if there are any pins that are bent or pushed into the plastic. Also look for a component that could have been nudged. If you cannot see anything visually you will need to take readings from the connector. This is not easy as the camera flex has to be connected and the camera app opened to check the voltages.
