Hey all, i made this account just for this question since i cant find any help for it, i have this 6+ with me that i replaced the screen for, the rear camera and the front weren’t working earlier, so i opened it thinking it might be dust or something, used some canned air to clean it, and put it all together. The Rear camera did work just fine afterwards, but not the front one, so i do some quick research since its getting hotter than usual on the cable side where the screen plugs in, and i guess a cable isn’t working right, or “shorting”, so i order the whole camera cable, plug it in, but no luck, still not working, earpiece works though, but gets hot on the same spot, i take the camera cable off, and its not hot anymore, but of course no camera, What could be the reason behind it not working? i tried different camera cables, but nothing works, can the rear camera mess up the front one since it wasnt working and somehow started working again? or something? im completely lost. Thank you :)
It’s just a shot in the dark, but sometimes when people remove the flex connector from the board, you can knock off little component(s) from the board that sit right next to the connectors… Or dislodge them from the board enough to where they do not make contact. Check near the connector to make sure this isn’t the case.
Have you tried cleaning the connector points where it plugs into the logic board? It may not fully be seated or a pin or two could be broken, and getting hott because it is not fully connected,
