Please help. I have a Fridgemaster MTL55300 fridge, bought 5 years ago. Lately, it has become very noisy (sound of compressor running continuously) and is not cooling. The top back wall ices up and the bottom of the fridge is warm. I have cleaned the condenser coils on the back of fridge . I even emptied the fridge and left the door open all day yesterday. I cleaned everything, emptied the drip tray, checked the drainage hole wasn’t blocked, etc. This fridge doesn’t have a fan. I don’t know what else to try.
Hi, Check that the door seals are OK. Use a sheet of paper and place it between the door and the door jamb, close the door and then try to pull it out. It will come out if you pull hard enough but it should not come out easily and definitely not just fall out. Try this at various places around the door, top, both sides and bottom. If you find an imperfect seal at some place on the door, carefully heat the seal with a hair dryer (on cool setting) and manually reshape the door seal to make a perfect seal. If the seals are OK, then the problem may be a faulty thermostat. Have you tried altering the setting on the thermostat just to check if this alters anything i.e. set for warmer or set for colder etc, you didn’t say?
