We just got this ge french door refrigerator everything was working until i left the top doors open too long while filling it with my groceries. I smelt something burning like when a vacuum overheats. The fridge lights are still on at this point i finally close the doors and when i open them again the light is out and they are hot to the touch. Im thinking maybe one of the connections was not fastened right or the light burnt out. (All other lights are working)
Fridge lights do burn out just like any other light bulbs, Try replacing it.
Jessica, if your fridge is still under warranty, call the vendor and have it fixed. It shouldn’t have burned out on a new fridge. Usually come with a one year warranty, so I hope yours has. Replacing those lights can be very expensive, as they are not just lights, they are leds on a circuit board, with all the electronics. The smell you describe (we used to call it “dead mouse”) indicate electronic overheating somewhere, probably on that board.
Close fridge, Allow the lamps to cool, they’ll come back on
