Freezer on top Frigidaire Gallery. Fridge is not cold, freezer is cool but not freezing. Compressor is working, coils on back of fridge are clean, no condensor fan on this fridge, evaporator fan runs (continuously), tube starting evaporator coils gets frozen over, evaporator coils are not covered in ice or even frost - they are cool but not icy cold.
Hi @dawnpv , The pipe into the evaporator getting frozen is not a good sign. It may indicate that there is a blockage in the evaporator unit. What is the model number of the refrigerator and how old is it? With a lot of refrigerators there is a 5 year parts only manufacturer’s warranty on the sealed system. The sealed system comprises the compressor, evaporator, condenser and associated pipes Check the user manual for the warranty on your model. Depending on your location and the type of refrigerant used in the refrigerator you may need a licenced refrigerator repairer to check the sealed system high and low pressures to determine what and where the problem is e.g. lack of refrigerant, blockage, faulty compressor etc. This is to comply with the environmental regulations regarding the handling of refrigerant gases. Where I am if the refrigerant type is other than R134a you cannot even buy it without a licence if for example you wanted to recharge a sealed system
