Chosen Solution

Hi all! After my recent mishaps with a MacBook Pro I’ve decided to try and fix another thing, my SE. I got the phone around half a year ago with a broken screen, faulty flash and mute switch. I then went about replacing the whole housing and sceeen with an iCloud locked phone and all was well until around 2 months ago. Every few days, if the phone is vigorously placed on a desk or handled too hard, either the flash, mute switch, or volume buttons or even the vibrate motor will totally stop working. After taking the phone apart, disconnecting the cable and connecting it again it works fine, but I can’t continue doing that as I’ll eventually mash up the connectors and strip the screws. Does anyone know of a permenant solution to get it working again? No soldering though as I can’t do that sort of thing at all! I have tried cleaning the connector with surgical spirit to no avail.

I would take a very close look at the Upper Component Flex. Even a tiny tear could be enough to cause issues and they would invariably occur when handled in a more physical manner. These flexes can be very delicate and it’s not at all uncommon for them to be damaged when they are replaced. The linked guide os for the iPhone 5S but it is the same thing as the SE (which has no guide).
