So I bought this iMac with 1TB SATA 2.5 fusion drive on ebay but it has a firmware password on it. The previous owner got the machine from a pawn shop and couldn’t access it either. I’m wondering if replacing the 1TB SATA 2.5 fusion drive with 2TB SATA 2.5 SSD with an OS Mojave already installed on the SSD will solve/remove the firmware password issue? Thank you

EFI firmware password is stored in the BIOS chip that’s on the logic board so changing hard drives won’t remove it. Can’t be removed without reprogramming or changing the bios chip.
