Hi, I have replaced the logic board on my iPhone 6s and the finger print scanner is not working so I am wondering do I need to get the home button from the phone I used to replace the logic board from ?

Yes. The Home Button is paired to the logic board so if you want to have a functional Touch ID, you need to recover the HB from the same phone that had the logic board.
