My really old smartphone (Xolo x1000) has a broken screen that I would like to fix. I’ve been having difficulties finding a suitable tutorial because it’s so old (although replacement parts are still available online, including a whole glass + touch screen digitizer + ribbon cable component, which would make fixing it easier). I also had a minor snafu when removing the broken screen: I used a plastic spudge to pry the screen out of the edges of the main plastic body. In the process, I pulled free one of the two ribbon cables connecting the screen to the main board. The pulled-free side of the ribbon cable appears to have been lightly taped onto the main board to keep it in place over a set of circuit contacts. I doubt that the pulled-free ribbon cable will make the device irreparable; right now my main problem is just that it’s hard to find a repair guide/tutorial, as it’s a pretty old phone. Does anyone know where I could find a good tutorial? Thanks! (Btw: I am really aiming to fix up this phone, even if it may not necessarily be worth the time)
