Yes the Dell Inspiron 6400 BIOS can be updated https://www.dell.com/support/home/nz/en/… The RAM can unofficially be increased to 4GB and the hard drive updated to a SSD drive. Also legal copy of Windows 7 can be upgraded to Windows 10 for free. I hope this helps
