Hi, I have this problem with my laptot screen, it only works when I move it to certain posicions. I whant to fix it but I don´t know if is a faulty LCD or the cable. I´m afraid of buying the LCD and the problem is the video cable. I wil put a video that explain better.

Hi, Here is a link to a video showing the screen replacement on an Asus X550 series laptop. At 4:16 minutes into the video it shows the location of the video cable connector on the screen and also that the cable passes through the left hinge of the cover. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QCgJh0y… You could try getting a stable picture on the screen and then gently, using a finger, press around the left hinge area, avoiding going near the screen connector location, and see if you can make the picture alter. If you can then perhaps that is where the problem is. it may also be that the cable connector on the screen itself is not holding the cable securely rather than a faulty screen. It may be that you will have to open the laptop to locate the problem. Presumably it is out of warranty?
