Hi, it is my second ifixit job and it is not going well so far… I bought a battery on the IFIX EU website. I did not force its entry. Then apple diagnostics said it was not working properly and customer service sent me a new one. Now, on opening the lid, I realized the plastic pull tab was not holding anything anymore. I can not possibly remove the battery by pulling it towards me, as it will just show the cables more. I am completely lost. What do you think I could do? Thanks for your help.
Yes the pull tab can pull off the cable harness! Not to fear, this is not a big problem! You’ll need to wedge between the walls of the base connector and the cable connector (blue line) with a straight bladed screw driver from both sides slowly pulling the connector out.
