My friend has an iPhone 6 which I refused to fix because of the home button issues. His home button doesn’t work at all so needs replacing but can’t do that because when it’s updated it will get error 53. The phone is under warranty but had a screen replacement I could swap an original lcd back on and claim under warranty Failing this, does anybody have any alternatives or any other way? is it possible to swap the components on the flex cable onto the replacement?
There is no alternative, original home button only. They may be having issues with home button because of the extended cable under the shield, try replacing that first, because if that gets damaged it causes issues with the home button. If that fails, then only thing you can do is try and put an original screen on, clean up all the inside to make it look like it hasn’t been opened, they may or may not replace it.
Well that’s not exactly true. You need to keep the original, unworking home button, for when you do updates. As long as the original home button is in there, it shouldn’t get error 53. The rest of the time you can use the after market button
i’ts posbile but even if ou menage to do it, nobody knows how long will it work
Error 53 is a vestige of history. It is no longer a problem since Apple released iOS 9.2.1. As long as you’re not running iOS version 9.2.0, you shouldn’t see error 53. See https://techcrunch.com/2016/02/18/apple-…
