Chosen Solution
Hello, I noticed that fan in my MBP is rattling quite heavily (sound like bearing are gone) and it annoys me quite a lot so I want to replace it. But when I looked at teardown guide I couldn’t really tell what parts I need to remove (if any) before the fan (I hope that I can leave battery where it is) Can anyone confirm what has to be dismantled to get to the fan?
From what I see in the Teardown you only need to lift the logic board to gain access to two screws just under it and the third is accessible to remove the fan unit but you will need first remove the fan cowling (3 screws), then the logic board.
