Hello, My fan switch only works on high so I know it is not the motor but probably the switch. But I do not know how to remove the dash cover to get to the switch. Do I have to take the entire dashboard off? Or is there a simplier way to access the switch. This would help me to replace the lighter plug that has not worked for 10 years. It is a 2001 Camry LE. thank you corey Update Thank you very much for your help. It makes sense that the resistor is out and therefore the blower only works at high speed. I will trace the wiring back to the resistor. One questions though, how do I remove the center counsol to get to the blower? It seems like the entire cover is attached to the dashboard so I hope I do not have to remove the entire dashboard. Is there a key screw to remove that allows the cover plate to be remove to expose the blower? thank you again for your help. corey
Corey, the blower motor speeds are controlled by the Blower Motor Resistor. When the Resistor fails, current goes right thru it and the blower only operates at max. speed. Replace the resistor should fix this. Locate the electrical connector to blower motor, trace back wiring no more than 8" to next plug. The device where the plug is connected to is the Blower Motor Resistor. Disconnect the plug and remove the two screws, remove and replace Resistor. We’ll have to figure out your lighter plug later:-). Hope this helps, good luck.
