Chosen Solution

http://s17.postimg.org/sumy7rfj3/image.j… ^^Above is the fan connector I am talking about. My PS3 Slim was constantly overheating so I cracked it open to clean it and take a look at the fan. While I was pulling out the connector, the female end connected to the motherboard came with it too easily. Apparently it was loosened somehow and I wasn’t getting a good connection there, as everything else seems fine with the fan. Is there any way of fixing this? I had a repair shop take a look at it and they basically said it’s toast, but they admitted they don’t specialize in console repair.

This shouldn’t be a problem to fix. We fix similar problems regularly. The main thing that make this repair a little more difficult is that the solder pads on the motherboard have been torn off but that is normally not a problem. The key is just finding the right repair shop.

agree completely. We are doing this kind of repairs all the time - sometimes is simple most of the times not - but we never gave up.. :-) Everything is repairable just you have to find right people to do it as colleague above said.
