Chosen Solution
I was changing out my fan and clumsily broke the connector for the fan. Having a new fan on hand, I proceeded to Solder the new one on. However, I am getting no power to it. I check with a multi-meter to see if there was voltage running through the contacts, and there was, but it seems to me like the fan I bought has a different pin layout. Confused - I would even settle for the fan being on full power from now on, just so I could use my computer. I will post a photo soon.
My advise would be to put the correct fan in. If you give us the last three figures of your serial number we can direct you to the correct part.
