Hi, I tried for the first time to repair an ipad screen. All seemed to go okay but when I put it back together the home buttone wanst working. So I repeated the process and made sure the cable was connected correctly, but this time the screen wont turn on. I’ve tried several reset options but nothing seems to work, but when I connect to my pc the ipad made a connection tone. What else can I try? If the glass is removed could and I connect the lcd whould it come one if I press the power button, or does it need other things connected? Just trying to workout how to pinpoint the issue. Thanks Martin
The iPad may have a no backlight problem. To confirm this shine a flashlight on the screen and if you see display but a very dim image then the backlight circuit will need to be repaired. This will require a local reputable repair store that does micro-soldering to fix the backlight circuit. Otherwise try holding the home + power button for about 10-15 seconds that will restart the iPad. Additionally you can also try disconnecting power to the logic board from the battery using a thin flexible plastic card temporarily then unplug and plug screen connectors back in. The backlight circuit can blow if screen cables are unplugged / plugged while battery is still connected to the main board.
