Chosen Solution

Ok. Let me start from the beginning. I bought a water damaged iPhone X. When you tried to restore it, it gave code 4013, unable to restore. So I tore it down and disconnected the earpiece and it works fine now, I just done have Face ID or an ear speaker, and anything else that the flex is used for on the X. Now my question is this, if I buy another earpiece I know that the Face ID won’t work due to the logicboard and the flood Illuminator being synced together. So would this work? If I removed the flood illuminator from my old earpiece and soldered it on to a new earpiece… would that be all I need? Thanks ahead of time.

If I’m not mistaken you gotta transfer the flood illuminator, earspeaker, and other sensors over to the new flex and you should be able to maintain faceID. I typically don’t recommend fixing liquid damaged devices because it can be a shot in the dark and you don’t know what to expect. I certainly hope you’re not trying to fix it up for resale but, that’s up to you.
