I have a Kenmore fridge. Model 253.63712300. The piece at the end of the evaporator coil keeps freezing. This is the transition where the line gets much smaller in size. This is the only part of the coil that is freezing and is causing my fridge to not cool. Thank you for any help.
Hi, If there is ice forming on a pipe feeding the evaporator, you have a problem with the sealed system. Depending on your location, you’ll most likely need a licensed refrigerator repairer to check it out. This is to ensure that it is done safely and correctly in accordance with the environmental laws that might apply in your area. Also they have the appropriate equipment to tap into the sealed system to check for restricted flow of the refrigerant, correct pressure, any leaks etc.
