No foreign obstacle in the machine so must be a mechanical fault - all the website says is see a service engineer but the local one will not even look at it and just wants to sell me something else. Seems a shame to throw it out and just buy a new one so any suggestions please

Hi, If there is no obvious reason that the carriage is being jammed, it may be that the waste ink tank is full. This ’tank’ is usually an absorbent pad and is deemed to be ‘full’ after a predetermined number of cleans. Try resetting by purging the tank counter. This should enable your printer to start working again. Be aware that if you perform regular printhead cleans the ’tank’ may overflow into the printer as it can no longer absorb any more ink. The pad can be replaced but it is not easy to access and also can be very messy. Here is a link that shows how to reset the counter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCWovhoA
