Printer shows “ERROR B500” and is completly stopped : neither printing, nor scanning. I tryed to reset copy counter to 0 with Service Tool Canon V3400 and V1074 : it does not work. Any other advice to soLve this PLANNED OBSOLENSCENCE ? Thanks
That’s the common error for Canon waste ink issues, while others will actually tell you. The problem is unless you have an old old model which can use leaked Canon service tools which can run locally (the newer ones are cloud based or still need to be leaked and cracked) the printer is dead. The cost to do a repair through Canon is as much as a new printer.
Long story short, you will have to reset the waste ink counter. Resetting the waste ink counter: Unplug all power and USB cablesOpen the cartridge doorHold the power button, and keep holding it while plugging the printer power cable back inRelease the power button once all lights are on.When the green power light turns off, press the power button quickly two timesThe green light will start blinking. Wait for it to stabilize.Close the cartridge door and print a test document. Source
