I get error 53 when trying to restore my iPad that is stuck on recovery mode. I have read that using original will fix the issue but don’t have it. Does Ifixit.com sell OEM home button? And will it fix the issue?
No, it’s encrypted, even if you tear up another iPad and put the home button to your iPad it will not work. The iPad is dead forever unless someone can hack the thing altogether or you manage to convince Apple to fix it for you.
Hi, you need to get the original home button because it is paired with your logic board. No other home button will work
You can also try restoring it with the home button connector disconnected , then when it’s restored properly , plug in the home button cable then it should work (of course if it’s not the original then the Touch ID won’t work , but the home button functionality will after it’s been restored)
Error 53 has been removed as an obstacle to restore. Touch ID will not work but the device will restore properly now. https://techcrunch.com/2016/02/18/apple-…
