a loud clanging noise and then the engine quit while i was mowing. i turn the key and it just clicks…engine doesn’t turn over at all….had cam shaft repaired last year on it.
@hammer15 “loud clanging noise and then the engine quit” and “engine doesn’t turn over at all” could be anything from a seized engine, to a broken rod or destroyed piston. Start by removing the plug(s) and see if you can turn the engine by hand. You may need to use a socket and breaker bar on top of the flywheel to see if it moves. Time to tear it down and take a closer look. If you can tell us what model your engine is, I am certain we can assist you further
