My Emerson em743, which is a tablet with a 7" screen, will not power on nor will it charge. Can I save this device or do I just trash it?
@tammyb Saving a device is always an option. Lets start by checking the charging port. look inside the port for dust and or dirt . clean it with either a toothpick or something plastic , don’t use a metal pic this will damage the port. Try using another method of charging use a different cord or connect to a computer instead of the charger. Still no Joy? lets move to inspecting the port itself. Is it loose can you move the port ? It may have broken free from the motherboard. If this has happened you will need to open the tablet and re-solder the connection. Hope this helps
Mine brand new it not working at all
I bought one for my daughter and she is just now 3 and she even thinks this thing is junk mine worked for about 20 mins then started freezing constantly and telling me to update it repeatedly even after being updated the only way to get it to become unfrozen was power off and reset so she had no interest in it. for almost a yr I’d say I had put it up .when I got it out of drawer and tried to charge it and wont charge using multiple chargers and boxes to be sure they werent faulty but they charged other devices fine as well checked and cleaned port tried reset buttons still nothing so is it trash or salvageable what is the end verdict?
