My earpiece speaker has been quiet for the last six months or so (significantly quieter than a working iphone 6). After trying numerous fixes, I decided to replace the speaker. However, I just did so and it’s STILL quiet. What could be wrong here??? I’m very confused. Update (12/14/2016) Are there instructions online showing how to actually replace the mesh? I followed some tutorials online and tried cleaning the mesh from the outside using a toothpick, but it didn’t work..
Perhaps the speaker mesh is full of crud (dirt, ear wax etc.) and that could be attenuating the sound from your speaker. iFixit sells a replacement (here)
