Hi, The a1225 imac display turned half grey/black. I opened her up, as i do ocassionaly to clean the backlight. Only this time one of the bronze flex strips on the keft side is coming undone, falling off the lcd. How do i fix this, acf glue? wire glue lol
Sadly yes, its time for a new LCD panel ;-{ You’ve pulled off the LCD driver flex from the LCD panel. This is where the flex cable is welded to the glass vaporized metal traces. Ripping it off severed the connections which you can’t patch up. You’ve puled off the metal traces with the cable and can’t reconnect them.
Needs a new replacement. It’s too hard too replace. I’ve see similar repairs on YouTube about TouchID flex for iPhone. It needs a stencil, solder station, flux, fine tips, wire and UV glue to avoid short circuit.
