Chosen Solution
Hi, I’ve got an issue with my Xbox One console. when I turn on the Xbox it doesn’t give me the start up green screen. It goes straight to something went wrong and gives me a error E100 code. I was wondering is this a Hard Drive Issue? OR a Disk Drive issue. I really don’t want to buy a new Xbox. Hope someone can tell me the issue thanks in advance.
To resolve this problem, use the Xbox One System Update Solution: Go to the Xbox One System Update Solution. Select I am getting an error message or an error code. Select I am getting an error code. Scroll down the screen and select E100 XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX. Follow the instructions in Step 4 to successfully update your console.
I have an original Xbox One and only run into this problem once a month or so. When the troubleshoot screen appears, select “turn off Xbox.” Once it’s completely through turning off, unplug the power box from the power socket and the Xbox itself. Wait around 10 minutes and plug the box back into the socket. I waited a minute-ish and plugged it into the Xbox. Manually open the troubleshoot by simultaneously holding the “sync“ and “eject” buttons while also pressing the power button. Wait for the second tone, and select “reset but keep games and apps.” This was successful for me and I hope it helps someone else!
You need to make sure you have the original disk drive (they are married to the mother board) and make sure it is plugged in.
With my brothers Xbox one all he did was take it apart and unplug the hard drive and plug it back in. Worked like a charm. Wouldn’t try this with the Xbox one S
