My dryer display shows only 23 minutes on Express Dry. No other modes or options work (e.g., permanent press, delicates, etc.). The dryer will still operate and dry clothes but only in that mode. I’m unable to go into the diagnostic mode as it will continuously display the 23 minutes and emit a beep regularly. I have unplugged and reconnected without success. I also replaced the electronic control board but it still has the exact same problem. Any suggestions?
Hi, I don’t know your dryer, but does it use ‘soft’ buttons to select the mode? If so I’m wondering if the Express Dry button is faulty and is ‘on’ all the time. Most soft button applications are momentary so that it locks in the mode with the micro processor and then the ‘mode select input’ to the processor is free when a different mode is selected. The same might apply if it is a selector type push button that locks in so to speak. It may still be s/c in the released position. Can you isolate the button connection perhaps (unless it is mounted on a pcb) or use an Ohmmeter to see if it is ‘on’ all the time, (do this with the power disconnected)? Perhaps 23 minutes is the duration of that particular cycle. You say that it works in this mode, does it count down from 23 mins, when operating?Just a thought.
