I dropped my Ipad Mini. Not very smart when it comes to these devices. What do I need to buy to fix the screen?
Tom, For the iPad mini the replacement glass screen, aka digitizer, comes in two flavors. 1.) A plug and play option—which is described as “iPad mini digitizer with touchscreen ic and presoldered home flex” 2.) A ‘glass only option’ –which requires you to desolder and transfer the original touchscreen ic and home flex from your cracked digtizer. I’ll also add that a couple of idiots on eBay actually sell glass only which is a useless piece of glass that is not even a digitizer for the same price as a digitizer. iPad mini screen replacement is hated by many repair shops–those suckers can give you a lot of problems. Make sure to read up on this repair before you begin to try–there can be a lot of pitfalls—especially cracking the LCD on disassembly, blowing the backlight fuse, removing pins from the digitizer connector on the motherboard, and digitizer ghosting. Nevertheless, this repair is do-able as a DIY project—on this one it will definitely pay off to do a little more research than usual.
Hi there is it just cracked does the picture at all look damaged if not then you just need to buy the glass digitizer
