I droped my I phone the toilet water now it want do nothing dryed to dry it out still does not turn on?
Junior, A/ Don’t try to turn on your phone!! B/ If you have the tools (Pentalobe screw-driver #2, Phillips screw-driver #000, nylon spudger, and suction cup as a minimum, you can try as a first step to disassemble your phone’s logic board using this guide, very gently dry it with tissue if you find traces of water, then clean it with very high-grade isopropyl alcohol (soaking and light brushing). If it still does not turn on, you have to try: B-1/ Connect it to a computer to see if shows up on iTunes. In which case you have a damaged screen that needs replacing using this guide, but after making sure the connectors where the screen assembly attaches to the logic board (steps 13 to 15 of the guide) are not corroded/damaged or have missing components around them. B-2/ If it does not show up on iTunes, you have to try and replace the battery using this guide. B-3/ If none of the above helps, you may have more serious issues that require the help of a professional repair technician. C/ If you don’t have the tools and/or the skills, it is better that you do not waste time and take it ASAP for repair to a professional repair technician with a proven track record in fixing liquid damaged devices. If you tell us where you live, I’ll point you to one near you if I know anyone in your area that I can recommend. I recommend acting quick because the more you wait on liquid damage, the harder it becomes to fix. Especially if the toilet water that it fell in was not clear/clean when the incident happened.
juniorlyons53. the very first thing you want to do is to not try to restart the phone. This may further damage your phone. You also do not want to try to charge it or sync it. The next thing to do is to clean it. Disassemble your phone using these guides. Once it is disassembled, you do need to clean it properly. You will need high grade isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush. Use this guide to see how to clean it. Even so it was written for a 3G all the points are still pertinent to your phone. While you are cleaning it, check for any broken, missing or burned looking components. When it is properly cleaned, replace the battery. All these steps are to avoid delayed failure caused by corrosion. Once all this is done, reassemble your phone and reevaluate.Water damage is the hardest to diagnose and the toughest to repair since virtually any part may have failed. Hope this helps, good luck.
