Hi again guys and gals, my very clumsy GF dropped her phone in the loo shortly after i pourd bleached into it. i have tried the usual fixes, rice, battery replacement, new screen and general clean up with IPA. now im getting now joy at all wont turn on and when connected to laptop its not seeing it…… any advise? (apart from throwing it at the wall?)
A toothbrush isn’t that effective for cleaning up water damage, as you can’t get under a lot of things, there is probably a ton of corrosion under the shields to. An ultrasonic cleaner is way more effective. You may have to check to see if any chips are damaged or have come off with you using a toothbrush.
Kyle, Rice is not a fix. You have of course totally disassembled the phone and cleaned everything with 90%+ isopropyl alcohol. You checked to make sure that you have no missing or damaged components. Make sure that your new battery is charged. Try a new lightning connector as well.
