Maytag dishwasher mdb4949sdh3. Will not drain rinse water at the end of a cycle. It won’t drain or start a new cycle until it sits a couple hours. Once it sits, I can drain it. It will also start a new cycle. It drains wash water great. It will drain the rinse water great AFTER it sits. Impeller works. No clogs. Its like something is getting hot and needs to cool off before the pump will work again. Has anyone actually FIXED this SAME issue?
Hi @sonnyjunebug, Here’s the tech sheet for the dishwasher. Try running the diagnostic tests as described in the tech sheet and check for any error codes etc. If no codes then run the DW as per normal and when it doesn’t drain, disconnect the power and disconnect the harness from the drain motor and measure the drain pump motor resistance to check if it is within specs i.e. 15Ω-60Ω across pin1 and pin 3 of motor in case it is breaking down due to the current flowing through it. If the drain pump is faulty search online for WPW10348269 to find suppliers that suit you.
