Hello, I started recently with fixing electronics and I came across a problem with an iPhone Xs Max which I tried to fix. When I bought the iPhone it had a cracked back and a bad speaker. So I started with removing the motherboard and screen and than I heated the back. I think I heated it way to much because it wasnt turning on, so I replaced the battery because it started to smoke….. Do you guys have any idea what could be wrong else? Please help me, I have no other idea what it could be after I replace the battery and I think the motherboard and screen are save to….

I’m not really sure what you mean by “I think I heated it way to much” What did you put heat on? If you heated the logic board you have probably damaged some components on the board or the pads on the interposer board. If you didn’t put heat on the logic board you would need to put it in a known good housing to rule out a parts issue. That is of course if the smoke came from the battery and not the logic board. If it still doesn’t boot in a known good housing you will need to take some measurements with a multimeter and DCPS to find the line that is stopping it from booting.
