So I’ve upgraded my 13" Macbook Pro mid-2012 to Yosemite and was surprised to learn that the system information says that handoff was not supported. This comes as a surprise considering that it is indeed listed as one of the models that supports this feature. So I’ve been researching this and found different answers depending on where one looked. Does this particular model support bluetooth LE or doesn’t it? If not, no problem, but if it does and I can simply replace my module to gain the feature, I’m willing to do it. Thanks for any input.
You might want to try a newer AirPort card in case yours has a firmware issue which is stopping it from working. Otherwise I would wait till the dust settles down. Who knows! the point release of Yosemite may fix things.
This system fully supports the last version of OS X 10.8 “Mountain Lion” and OS X 10.9 “Mavericks” as well as the current version of OS X 10.10 “Yosemite” with the exception of the “Power Nap” feature. Which Macs Support Yosemite. If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it.
Thanks, Dan! I ran the Continuity Activation Tool again, and got the same results I got before, that my machine lacks the requisite bluetooth hardware to activate handoff. Then I ran EtreCheck and got different results, which says that my bluetooth card does support handoff, so I don’t really know where I stand. It would have been helpful to have this feature, but if I can’t get it working, I guess it’s not the end of the world. Thanks again for taking the time to try and help me out!
