Chosen Solution
This MacbookPro will not start with the on/off key (on keyboard). I can remove the back cover and toggle the logic board start pads and it will start. Does this mean a full keyboard replacement or is there perhaps something else I may check? TIA
You may have a bad connector or a bad fitting cable, but unless anything weird happened to the Mac, it’s a bit unlikely. Try to see if a SMC reset takes place when you press the keys combination: left shift+ctrl+alt+power button with magsafe plugged in with Mac turned off..light should go from amber to green and then back to amber.
