Have a Macbook Pro 13in Retina Late 2012 A1425 that has a functioning screen.. want to take this screen to replace the broken screen on a Macbook Retina Late 2013 A1502.
Are they compatible?
@guidodavinci these panels are not interchangeable. The wiring is far to different. You will have to try to get the manufacturer label from the back of the actual display panels and compare the datasheet of both of those to determine if it could be made to fit by (possibly) re-soldering the connectors etc. Here is the connector for the Macbook Pro 13in Retina Late 2012 A1425
and here is the one for the Macbook Retina Late 2013 A1502.
According to PowerbookMedic, no, they are not compatible. However, oddly enough, if you search for a replacement for the early 2013 (1502), it says it’s only compatible with 2013-2014. However, when you search up a replacement for the late 2012, it says it’s compatible with both late 2012 and early 2013… MacBook Pro 13" Retina (Late 2012-Early 2013) Display Assembly
Also, everymac.com confirms both screens have the same resolution and DPI, so sounds like they are identical. Only one way to find out I suppose. It’s worth a shot. If it doesn’t work, you’ll have to remove the screen assembly anyways to replace the LCD if you go that route.
