Chosen Solution
I noticed that on the old mid frame chassis, there are gold square contact points for the motherboard and the new mid frame does not have them. Are they necessary for functionality? Update (07/05/2019) Here is a picture of what I am referring to. They are circled in the picture. The tiny gold squares.
The midframe consists of some plastic and antenna circuitry which required as it acts as an antenna for the phone. Without it the cellular 3g/4g + wifi/bt signal will be degraded and maybe even not work. Edit: you also have the wireless charging Pad that is part of the midframe so without it no wireless charging support.
