I run my own side business for fixing iPhones and one of my employees said that while he was removing the screen, the battery sparked? No smoke or anything, just sparked. Well, he replaced everything and the screen isn’t turning on? I took it back apart and he crinkled the camera ribbon and I need to order a new one. So I guess my question is, does the camera ribbon have anything to do with the screen turning on? If not, then I should replace the battery, correct?

With the rear camera or front camera disconnected the phone should switch on. It will just stay a lot longer on the apple logo before it boots up to the lock screen, about 3 to 5 minutes extra wait time.

No the camera ribbon does not prevent the screen from turning on. The only potential problem is for the phone to fully boot up.
