I just replaced my old hard drive with a new one in my Macbook Pro 15" A1286. It is a Seagate Momentus 7200 rpm 750 GB. I was going to reinstall the OS in this hard drive but it doesn’t recognize it. What should I do?
I have to ask if you have started the MacBook from the Mac OS X DVD. You must format the drive first. After you choose language select ‘Disk Utility’ from the Utilities menu. Do you see the hard drive there on the left panel? You can choose the drive and choose ‘Erase’ from the top menu.
