Does this camera have Wi-fi capability built in or does it need an attachment?

This model unfortunately does not have built in WiFi as it is an entry level D-SLR. However, you can purchase an external wireless adapter from Nikon that plugs into the mini-USB port on the left hand side of the camera. http://www.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-product…

Nikon page showed it did have wifi under the ad for he camera, but I cannot find it on the menu.

When I buy this camera this is one of the functions I asked for and the salesperson told me it did have built in Wi-Fi. I am almost beginning to hate I bought my camera at Arlington camera in Arlington Texas.

The answer posted in 2016 is incorrect or out of date. The compatible module is the WU-1b according to Nikon USA’s D610 webpage. It’s available from B&H for about the same price. And the D610 is not Nikon’s entry level DSLR. That’s the D3000 DX crop frame series, starting about $300. The D610 an FX, full frame model and in a lot of cases, better than the early D4’s (23 vs 16 MP) and it originally was sold around $2000, hardly an “entry level model.”
