Hello ifixit comunity, my Macbook Pro late08 (A1286) got some scratches etc. over the time. Since my last travel i have a grey shadow on the display and I want to replace it. So I thought maybe I can get a higher resolution display. I found this display on ebay and I would like to ask is the connector the same in late08 and the newer i5 models? Is the upgrade possible? hen, although the connectors look very similar, your board/firmware will most likely not recognize the higher res display.
I doubt it will be compatible, Apple most likely designed it to work only with it’s original display, not next-gen higher res display.
