Do the sub frame have to be lowered to remove the rack and pinion. 2014 ford fusion

It doesnt have to be removed but it will make the process easier if you do . Are you working from a hoist or off the ground? Either way you only need to drop it a few inches to get clearances to pull the rack. Hope this helps
