Recently dropped, damaged my screen. I replaced my screen but also noticed the wifi hasn’t worked since the drop. The settings will say it’s connected but the phone is not really connected to wifi. All of my other devices are functioning fine with wifi. How do I really know if a new wifi antenna needs replacing?
You can check the connection, it’s under the front camera next to the rear camera on the motherboard. You will to unhook the top section of the battery and lift it up enough to remove the cables to the front camera. You can check the connection to the wifi antenna and if necessary change it. I have pictures of the parts that you can pick up on ifixit website. You should be able to find videos on ifixit and YouTube that will show you how to change it.
No Wi-Fi is a pain with the iPhone X. The rule I follow is if the Wi-Fi is greyed out it will be a logic board problem. If it is connected it will more than likely be a parts problem so a replacement antenna might be the fix. There will be YouTube videos on the replacement if you cannot find a guide here. But it would be best to check your connections first.
