I had a question before about a coffee spill on my MacBook Pro 2017 with Touch Bar. I came across some photos from the IFIXIT teardown that stated that the grills holes don’t pass clear through to the inside at the upper part specially, does this mean that no liquid can pass through it at all and that it’s completely obliterated?
Image 1 Also can somebody tell me what are the two white rounded rectangles shown in Image 2
Image 2 Can somebody please confirm this information?
The grill holes at the bottom of the image are through hole so the sound can pass through. The upper part is done for aesthetics (look). So anything that leaks through the lower part will wet the speaker. The holes in the second image you are seeing are the USB-C holes in the case. The USB-C connectors pass through these holes.
