Chosen Solution
Was replacing the LCD and digitizer on my phone, when i peeled it away, there was a black sheet of foil attached to the frame that tore. Is this piece necessary? What is it called so i can order a new one? That’s probably the conductive gasket. I have access through work to GSPN and I checked if there was any information regarding this but I couldn’t find anything. My guess is that you’ll be fine without it. I think that we’d see a lot more problems related to that if it was an issue and I’ve never heard anything regarding that. Just go with it. The tape isn’t even available for order from Samsung so my guess is that you wouldn’t be able to find it anywhere else.
