Hello, I hope you can help me. I was installing a new hard drive and when I removed the old one from my MacBook A 1181, the side plastic tabs that the drive slides into came loose on both sides. I tried to stick it back but was not successful. Do I need these plastic tabs as some kind of insulation for the hard drive or can I install the new drive in there without them. No. That tab is simply there to help you remove the drive.
