I am planning on replacing my current HDD with a Crucial 500 GB SSD at the same time as I upgrade to 16GB RAM. Do I need to install an In-line thermal sensor with the SSD? My IMAC is a 21.5 inch EMC 2544 model.
It’s only the older 21.5” models which have a 3.5” Drive, yours has a 2.5” drive. But, you do need a newer drive that supports the current version of S.M.A.R.T. services.
